I went to get gas early one morning shut the vehicle off when I went to restart I got a "Put vehicle in park to start" or something to that effect. I looked it was in park but shifted to "B" then to "Park" it started and had no problem mentioned it to my son he could not figure it out either. Had no more trouble for about three months I was waiting to get the car washed at a hand wash the fellow went to move it and made motion that he had trouble I figured typical does not understand hybrid no engine running etc. which I had there already and I would drive it in and out. This time I could not start it either I got "Put vehicle in park to start" again the voltmeter (Scangauge) read 9 volts so they jumped it. I bought an Optima Yellow battery my son installed it and reset the back hatch, windows and sunroof. 55,000 miles 5 years the factory battery lasted.

Yeah, it seems as if either the 12 Volt battery does not last as long in this vehicle or Lexus utilized batteries that were not durable enough.

Same here. My experience with 12 V batteries is they rarely last five years so I will not complain.

Yeah and Lexus paid for it so what more could ask?

The stock battery in my Legacy GT lasted for 7 years. I replaced it that winter as not risk it. Longest 12 Volt I've ever run.
