Would you consider buying ’08 LS600hL for $72,895?

I'm over the top picky and I don't care about paint work provided orange peel matches the factory finish, it was done correctly and it matches (color, the way the metallic flake lays, etc.) Mine was "rear-ended" - no structural damage, but I had the Lexus dealer re-do the body work 3 times before it was perfect. No tape lines or trace of repair. The only way you'd be able to tell is with a paint meter around the blended areas.
Now, anything that requires noticeable amounts of filler and/or frame damage -- I'm out and wouldn't touch it. A car that has had suspension component damage is, in my opinion, never right again.
If the car is nice and you can get details about the accident, I wouldn't hesitate - that's still a great deal. If the paint doesn't match right (that color, Truffle Mica, is the same color I have and it's very difficult to match) - have them redo it until it does. Otherwise, if there was no structural damage, the airbags didn't deploy, etc. - who cares? Get it checked out by a third party and if all is well, I'd go for it personally.
As an aside - Carfax is rather useless except for "major" items.
Good luck.
