Expensive LS600hL Repair Bill!
I just like to share this with you guys here at CL so you can get an idea of how expensive a repair bill can get if you're not careful with your car! hehe. Anyways a couple months ago my mom took the LS out on a rainy day. As she made a left turn at the light (maybe at least 20mph or so I suspect) and went over a curb. The result? Well, it the process she had cracked the exhaust pipe, bent 2 wheels, and damaged the right front wheel bearing. So with that in mind here's the estimate from Park Place Lexus of Grapevine.
All labor figured at $131/hr
Replace exhaust pipe assembly: 3.5 hrs.
Parts: $6873.04
Labor: $458.50
Possibly need 2 O2 sensors hooked on to the exhaust pipe
Parts: $486.38
Replace right front axel bearing: 3 hrs
Parts: $597.68
Labor: $393
Replace 2 bent wheels and both needed to be sent to California to be chromed:
Parts: $1567.14
Replace one tire - Dunlop Sport Maxx 245-45-19
Parts: $384
Alignment
Labor: $134.99
Subtotal: $10894.73
Sublet: $500 (apparently it costs this much to get the wheels to cali to get them chromed..)
Tax: $744.50
Total: $12,139.23
The tire to me is fine because a small part of the rim protector was ripped, so subtract the tire from this total. Regardless, since the hybrid nature of car, the exhaust can't be welded or repair, have to be replace. We will probably have file an insurance claim and have them take care of this haha. Moral of the story, becareful with your LS over curbs/speed bumps etc.!

Whew! I drove over a curb a year ago. Sure glad it wasn't too high. Of course insurance would have footed the bill, but my annual premiums would certainly have taken a hit. But yeah, as I was approaching my warranty's term fast (I drive a lot), I did have some trepidations about long term maintenance and repair. Hence the RX...

overall i'm very satisfied with the car, maintenance is nothing compare to an S class or 7 series, i guess when you start breaking the 100k barrier don't expect repairs to be cheap when something happens haha
