Default Sound when pressing brakes on rx 450 h

Kind of surprised at the volume during braking. i know the system is regenerating electricity, but does anyone else think it seems loud?
I don't think it's broken , just loud?
Tell me no. Tell me yes.
thanks folks

I'd say it's "different" but not particularly loud.

As noted elsewhere, the brakes will also switch from "regenerative" to "ABS" mode if you happen to be breaking on a bumpy surface, and seemingly "cut out" for a split-second while doing so. That, too, takes some getting used to.

if you are talking about the whine, it is a characteristic of all hybrid cars. I think it is only noticeable when you have the window open, otherwise, it should not portrude into the vehicle.

I also kind of like it. Reminds me that I have a hybrid and am getting regenerative braking with the associated charge on the battery. I certainly don't find the sound distressing.

i'm glad i'm not the only one to notice the "cut out", i thought there was something wrong with my brakes lol! thx for pointing that out, i was going to take my RX in for an inspection because of that.

It is very disconcerting and takes awhile to get used to and anticipate it based on road conditions. I don't hug the rear end of cars ahead of me the way I used to.

I had read before I purchased the car that transition between regeneration and full braking was noticeable, which I don't notice. I had watched for it during my three test drives. This is different and related to road surface. If not the same, very similar to the reason of the recalls.

As far as the sound, mine doesn't seem loud. Noticeable, but not distracting. I rather like the whine. Makes the car unique. I'm, knock on wood, very fortunate as I have a very quiet car. None of the rattles or other miscellaneous noises folks comment about. <continuing to knock on wood>
