Last night after using the car for a 40 mile drive, parked and shut it off. An hour later I heard a beeping noise and thought a neighbor's alarm was going off.

Looking at our driveway I relaized that our car was beeping and the running lights were flashing. I got in and turned it off and when I tried to start it, got the classic dead battery; all dials flashing and then going black.

I was able to get it started but it died after a minute or so. Has never happened with just a dead starter battery; could it be a charging problem with the main battery? Recently from time to time, it has taken more than one turn of the key to get it to engage when starting.

Doesn't sound good if the car decides to tell you something when it's totally shut off, eh?
