Want to run K&N Intake Pipe and Filter on my 450h, what do i need to do
I know K&N does not have an application for the 450h, but they do on the 350. What do I need to do to make this work?
Or can I simply run a Joe-Z intake pipe and attach any K&N intake to the car?

From my understanding it is the same setup in the GS 350. What I am not sure of is if the ECU is tuned different since the 350 has 303hp and the 450h has 293hp from the V-6 (its detuned) for better MPG since its coupled with a hybrid.
I sent Joe-Z a PM a couple of days ago but he hasn't logged back in yet. Maybe we can get him to chime in.

i'll try to get some before and after dyno numbers from Competition GT once it's installed.
maybe i'll even pick up 1-2 better mpg

Thanks for the heads up Mike!!
You can not attach a cone filter to the "Joe Z Intake Pipe"
I was not able to verify if a different drop in filter works inside the GS450 h air box..
The Oem Lexus Engine Air Filter part #1780131110 - works on all the IS250's, IS350's, IS-C's & GS350's...
It is my understanding that the air filter part# is different on the H, but the Intake Pipe used on the H is the same part used from the GS350 to my knowledge..
The first GS350 to install the Joe Z Intake pipe was back in late 2007..
Just installed the JoeZ IS350 2GR-FSE intake on my 07 GS350

Joe Z

I may have been the first to do so with the K&N intake. I'll post a review once I drive it around.

just a couple quick thoughts after a couple days of driving.
Picked up 2-3mpg driving around town and the highway.
I got 35mpg (tank average) driving to downtown la and through some traffic around in the city. Not bad if I say so myself.
Car feels a bit peppier but is louder once you step on the gas. (obviously)
I'll give it a few more days to post my final thoughts.

notice the holes for attachment are on opposite corners?
You need to cut the nubs off of the k&n and attach an adapter plate to it.
Can't imagine more 450h owners haven't done this mod already. I'm ecstatic to be avg 29mpg city / highway miles. Best so far is 36mpg mixed highway and city.

Update:
I've been getting about 34mpg average daily now on the freeway.
Mixed city driving and highway I'm at 29-30mpg.
Can't quite comment on power or throttle response. But it does make a lot of noise when you get on it.
