Default question about my new 450h

hi i just got my new 450h and love the car. my concern is why the power gauge go so high at a normal start. its like almost pass the "Power" word. is this normal?

The only time it should be close to power is when you start stepping on it pretty hard.

I'm sorry I should have making this more clear. thats when i start stepping on the gas, but i dont think i step on it that hard

doesn't take much, just need to lean to start out slow and work up the speed. It's hard not to get in the power or white area on take off unless your are in city or low speed area.

yeah when I am on the highway just cruising at 65, its already near the Power area lol

yeah after you hit the "Power" it only has a little white left and then you max the power? that doesnt sound right this car has more power than that...I'm going to step on it and see how it does on the power gauge

If I were to punch the pedal and peg the needle beyond the word POWER with little or no white left, I would be screaming down the road.

Normal in-town driving, I routinely get to the "P" of Power. Even in ECO MODE, which is the mode I usually use. Driving economically is difficult for me. Staying in the green in town means crawling from stop signs.

On interstate, once up to speed, I'm still in the eco green range although at the end of the range at 75 MPH.

When folks say you need to drive like there is an egg on the pedal to save fuel, they mean it. I don't and after 20,000 miles and a year of ownership, my best average is 29.1 MPG.
