I have a 2008 450h, if i hold it down for 10 second while in park, it stays off.. until i turn the car off and back on.
i dont think you can do much without a remap of some kind. but it should be working.

I don't quite understand, do you mean changing the switch?

Same problem, also a 2007. I'm going to talk to the dealer about it. Maybe the ECU software can be updated?
This would be a very fun car in the snow with the instant torque and all, but the traction control is a buzz kill, fortunately I still have my 2GS430 which is a blast in the snow.
Steve.

Update:
I talked with the head mechanic at the Lexus I deal with (Kitchener, ON) and he said there was nothing they could do. He is aware of the 'issue' on the 450h and agrees that it's a shame because of how powerful the car is.
Changing the switch is an interesting idea. I will have to try holding it down while I drive and see if it keeps it off. Although now it is warm with no snow, so I will have to try a lot harder to spin the wheels.
I really don't want to have to pull a fuse, it's a complicated traction system and I don't want to mess it up.

Update: I tried putting it in park and holding the button down for 10sec, then keeping it held down while spinning the tires. No luck, the trac control still re-activated even though I never let go of the button. So the 'switch idea' is out.

Mantance Mode is ur answer bud
as the title says u need to put it into mantance mode but do so at owen risk as me manual says not for every day driving .
So it is a peddle dance
get in car turn on ign ( push power bottom twice with out for on brake)
while in park press gas peddle twice
then while in Neutral again press gas peddle twice
then back to park and press gas peddle twice
and last step is to start to car by holding the brake down and pushing the POWER button
have fun but at ur own risk

Lexus prob did this on purpose to limit the power to the rear end and from cvt tranny, same as recharging the traction battery when it reaches 40% and topping it off at 60-80% for reliability reasons.
