Looking to replace cd/radio with nav/dvd/backup camera/bluetooth. Most important is excellent backup camera for wife. Next is ability to use mp4a formatted sd files for music, rather than clutter of ipod, Next is ease of bluetooth and clarity of sound (using android droidx), next is ability to accept external hard drive and ship to second dvd display, lastly nav system with easy updates (i already am happy with garmin extenal, but again, trying to remove clutter from driving space).
Ability to utility nav from droid with bt streaming ok instead of Nav if this is superior format, would like to be able to disable the moving blocks (dvd/nav) and give direction to nav verbally, use the steering wheel volume controls.
On camera, wide angle? best vision? Can you option it so you can look out the back while driving?
What about rear view mirror options?

I chose Kenwood because of the built in Garmin nav. They have a back up camera called the CMOS 300 which is adjustable from the HU and also includes back up lines for easier parking. The camera is color and wide angled.
The Kenwood comes in a variety of specifications ranging from 700 on the low end to 1700 for the latest and greatest. There are many small purchases you will need to make to complete the package. Alternatively, you can leave it up to the installer to provide the ephemera.
This is a list of what I bought for my install:
Kenwood 6960 head unit
Beatsonic faceplate and wiring harness
Kenwood CMOS 200 Backup camera
Axxess universal steering wheel controller
Kenwood iPod connector
Kenwood chassis (attaches the HU to the car)
DVD/NAV bypass (allows these to be used while the car is in motion)
The bypass is brand specific and can be purchased on eBay for a few dollars. Kenwood and others can do what you require but if you are used to Garmin, Kenwood might be the place to start.
If you purchase Kenwood from an authorized dealer a 2 year warranty is included.
