What do you think the direction of the next GSh will be?
Well we know the world's first luxury RWD performance hybrid will be back in a second generation. What we don't know are specs. There are even rumors two hybrid models will be offered in Europe, not sure about here.
What do you think will happen? Do you think Lexus will continue to make it as a sporty high performance sedan with less focus on MPG? Do you think Lexus is going to favor MPG instead of performance? Do you think 2 models will come?
What do you think? What would you like to see?

I believe they will continue a high performance hybrid. What remains to be seen is if we will get a more efficient model as well. I think it is a great idea to have two hybrid models. I could see them pairing the 2.5 V6 from the IS to make ~260 or so HP. It would compete well with the new A6 hybrid and fit perfectly in the lineup.
I was tweeting with Mark Templin at LexusChat and he confirmed that we will keep our power.
I said: "What direction are you planning on taking the next GSh? Please don't move away from the power! We love our GS450h!"
Templin: " Glad you love your hybrid. Don't worry. Power's a key part of that car. ^MT #LexusChat"

executive matchup
^ that's great to know!
to stay on top of the luxury RWD performance hybrid sedan class, lexus definitely needs to bump up the hybrid power or the ICE (or both). perhaps 3.8 or 4.0 L V6 engine mated with next gen hybrid electric motors/batteries that push out 400+ HP. i can only dream!

Yeah I think they will try to do both in the US as like what we have currently, with gas being somewhat good and speed being equally good. Im sure they will not make it with more HP than an LFA but maybe close the the LS in HP Im hoping for the active sway bar to be standard on this model. But don't think they will go for 400HP maybe 380 or around that number but not sure they will go higher.Would b nice though!

The difference in real life mileage with the M35h is negligible. I routinely get 30-31 mph on the highway driving 74 miles per hour in the GS. Infiniti may claim they made a better performance hybrid, but it's only marketing BS. I drove it and was quite disappointed. It feels slower and drives like a big boat.

I think we will get a modest boost in power and nothing close to the numbers our competitors are doing. CTS-V, M5, Audi S anything. BUT, we will get something that is gas conscious and fast yet again. I am hoping this time around that the battery peak power and engine power peaks at the same time for a greater maximum output compared to opposing curves.
One thing I have witnessed and almost have little patience for is people claiming to have "inside knowledge" or talked to their dealership salesman who gives them misinformation.
The amount of ridiculous prefacing I heard about the LFA would make some of you laugh. Also, this sentiment is coming from a Supra owner which everyone claimed that a new one was coming out in 2002, 2003, 2008 etc.
