Default New owner 2008 400h questions??

Hi everyone,

I made an impulse purchase of a used RX400h AWD this afternoon from a private party. Now I am realizing what I missed by not buying it from a dealer...answers to my questions.

First the owner claimed they only received one key when they bought it new. Can this be true? How do I get more keys made and how much does it cost? I must say I am disappointed with the key itself. Its very plain. She gave me some kind of key form for making other keys.

Second the car with 34,000 miles has the original tires and needs new ones. There are mag locks on the wheels. Where would the key to those locks be found? She is a widow, it was her husband's car so she does not know everything about it.

I am glad you are all here to help. This is my first SUV and my first hybrid so it should be interesting.

Look for the lug lock key under the rear, forward cargo area floor, tool kit, jack, tow hooks etc... Usually get 3 keys, 2 remotes, 1 a wallet type key....

The car came with 2 keys and 2 valet keys and a credit card key that will actually drive the car.

Maybe the widow will come up with the other keys when she goes through the spouse's stuff....Keys can be had on EBAY and Sewell Lexus online...All they need is the vin # As for tires there are lots of forum discussion on this site....The Yokohama Pravada seem to be a great value.

Default Thank you everyone!

Thank you everyeon. We found the wrench. It was just where it was supposed to be. My husband thought it was something else. I've ordered keys from ebay. The dealer wanted $237 for each key plus $90 for programming. I will have to have the keys cut and then take to the dealer for programming. My husband is also ordering new rims. He says the $1100 dealer installed chrome rims are "tacky".

This is my first SUV. I am still adjusting. I feel like a bus driver after 20 years of driving sedans.
