Rust

Just bought the 400h as I've posted earlier, found some rust underneath one door. Took to the dealer where I bought it and it's with them but was given a loaner car( 2011 RX350). Some rust can be seen under but some are behind the inside panel. Not sure how much. Kind of disturbing to see rust on a 2008 car with 34,000 miles, and on only one door, and certified!
First problem was the wheel-lock key was nowhere to be found, so the dealer took all locks off and put on regular nuts. 2nd was only one master remote and a valet key were given. So with the car by the dealer now, I have asked them to make another master remote. Hopefully they'll give me a deal on that. We'll see and I'll keep you updated on all.
Other than the above the car runs great, quiet, 250 miles has been put on with mpg near 28(more hwy than local, average 60-70mph on hwy).

Got the car back 2 days ago and returned the 2011 RX350 loaner. They took care of the rust under the warranty plus no charge on a new master remote key. God bless!

When I was shopping around for used RX400h I found a lot of these cars with rust around the bottom door areas and on the front above the grill- yes, a bit disturbing. Luckily my 2006 doesn't have rust on it yet, but now that I've seen that it's common, I'm worried I might be in that same boat.... I owned a 2004 Toyota Sienna with not a spec of rust on it; I wonder what the difference is...

Found Rust underneath the two door handles, on the passenger side... just missed out on the factory warranty... ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Going to get a quote to fix that. Also, found rust on the rear passenger side fender, where the metal fender meets the rear bumper skirt just after the rear wheel well opening...
Hmm, this is definitely not up to Toyota Standards, given my RX 400H is only 4 years old...
