Tinted the RX yesterday

I've heard of horror stories that officers would even make them remove the tints on the spot, with a scraper or coin. . I take risks. Besides, out of over 25 years of owning several vehicles, all of which had limo tints, I've only been stopped 5 times. 3 of which, I've been ticketed for, which have ALL been dismissed (no fines, penalties, jail, etc.) in court. And this was during the time when Illinois did not allow ANYTHING between the driver and window, which I was told by an officer and a auto window tinting professional. Basically, you can/will be ticketed for even having clear tints.
I'm aware of the consequences and will take the risks. Besides, I've been in a holding cell before for worse offenses. But I guess if an officer were in a real bad mood, even changing a lane without turn signals would give them a reason to throw you in jail as well. The only out of state citation I received was for speeding over 20 mph in Georgia and that was with a car rental. I drove my Toyota 4Runner with limo tints on route to Graceland before with no issues.
Besides, if I do get stopped, I just lower both windows and keep both hands on the steering wheel. Tints or no tints, doing this will make ANY officer feel more at ease when approaching you.

I was refused a safety sticker in Texas for too dark tint on a used car I bought. Everything else passed but you still have to pay the fee if you flunk so I borrowed a razor blade from them and spent an hour taking the stuff off the two front windows, got my sticker and left. As a result, I won't go over 35% which is allowed in Texas.

Good point about lowering both windows and your hands. Do not think you should come down to the gulf coast here you will get a citation that would be VERY hard to get out of in court.
