Default 2 free services for new owner

I recently bought new RX450h in July '11 ( car build in June '11 in Japan ). The dealer here in San Jose, Northern CA, offered the free 2 srevices at 1000 miles( or 30 days) and 5000 miles( or 6 months) at their dealer service site. I read in the booklet information provided by Lexus which indicated the new owner will have 2 free services at 5K miles( or 6 months) and at 10K ( or 12 months). What is your guys' thought about the 2 "free services"offered by my dealer ??? Is that up to the dealer to offered that free services ( at 1000 mile and 5000 miles to avoid the cost of 10,000 miles services ? )
By the way, I really enjoyed reading the Club Lexus site which offered so many information for new owner like me..

The funny thing is that my Lexus dealer (serramonte) in Daly City also has printed that the first two services (1000, and 5000) are free. I skipped the 1000 mile service since they dont really do anything. my 5000 was free. Im pretty sure you and I will be able to reason with them since it says so in the maintenance booklet.

I live in Pleasanton and purchased my 450h from Pleasanton Lexus. It came with both the 5,000 and 10,000 services. The 1,000 is always free and is just setting the car up to your preferences; I skipped it. The 5,000 is basically a tire rotation. I asked how much the 10,000 mile service would be and my dealer told me $160 (I think it is primarily an oil change). I'm sure the $160 is an inflated number for the services provided. My dealer does have specials ... like $40 for a synthetic oil change they offered the other day.

Is this a Cali thing?
I had the 1000, 5000, and 10000 miles services free of charge.
Took my car to a local Toyota dealer for the 15000 miles service, only cost me $50.

Hi , this is the update of 2 " free services " question . Today I called the sale person whom i bought the RX450h last month regarding the free 1000 and 5000 miles services offered by the dealer in San Jose, Northern CA, and she told me that is a mistake from the guy who prepare the car prior the sale ( who put the reminder sticker on the L winshield for the services). So she told me to ignore it and contact/ made appointment with the service dept. when the car reached 5K miles and 10K miles for "free service" .

The first service, 30 days/1,000 miles before the change, was mostly check this, check that but also included the opportunity to change the settings. I hope they allow it at 5,000 now.

I saw the same thing when we picked up our car last weekend.
Free service at 5,000 miles or 30 days
Free service at 10,000 miles or 6 months

I didn't see a note the at it was whichever came first. I can't see the value in a 30 day checkup.

I agree. That's what it said in the warranty guide, but there was another form pointed out by the salesman, but I can't seem to find a copy. But I did find this.

It was 30 days/1,000 miles and 6 months/5,000 miles. So essentially the time is the same but the mileage is not. I'd skip the 30 day and and go straight to the 6 months and one year intervals as long as the mileage doesn't go above 10,000 miles before then.
