I have a 2006 RX-400h, one of the first RX-400h's off the boat in 2005. Now, six years later, ONLY at Costco service stations, the pump clicks off after only a very small amount of gas is pumped. Maybe one out of ten times, the filling will go smoothly. This clicking off problem is strictly with Costco! At an ARCO or Shell or Mobil or any other brand, filling is always smooth and effortless. Costco is so convenient and with my AMEX card, I get 3% back, so switching stations is not a good option. Others don't have the problem, so I want a solution/fix.

The problem is in the sensitivity of the nozzle. Have you tried a different station at the same pump?
At some stations, try pulling back the nozzle (dont stick the thing all the way to the hilt).
If these actions fail, you may like to post in the 400h forum and get opinions from other owners ... that is if it is 400h specific ... by your post it seems the issue is with the Costco pump.

Just moved the post to the RX400h thread.
I noticed a similar issue in Mexico with Pemex pumps. Not every one of them had the issue, but I'd have to look back at my old posts, because I swore it all happened around one particular time. However, to be fair I also remember I was using some additives at the time. However, on another few instances where I was not using fuel additives I did have this very same issue. Since Pemex was full-service (by law), I actually had to work with the attendant and we had to do it 3/4s pressure on the handle.
