Air coming from Rear seat belt anchors
Hello,
We just bought 2012 RX450h last week, and I just noticed one thing strange. I noticed there is air coming from rear seat belt anchoors of both sides. Is this normal? Do you have this in your RX?
Thank you

I am not exactly sure I understand what you are feeling, but if you check in your manual there is a discussion about the fact that the hybrid battery is under the rear seat. I believe it can pull air in when needed and this may be what you are feeling. I would think it is normal.

The vents under the rear seat is indeed the battery cooling off. Air comes out of it. I am not sure if air should be coming out of the seat belt anchor area but perhaps it is just the air from under the seat

Welcome to the CL forum.
Like others have said, your traction batteries are along the floor under the rear seat. If you just look down you can see the grill allowing air to circulate over them and yes, they are designed to be kept cool and ventilated as to keep from getting hot. They are sealed, so no harmful fumes, just air moving over and through them. Shouldn't be a problem at all.
