1. What is your driving style?
2. Test your battery

PS: When "refuel" light is ON then you have 3 more gallons in gas tank.

I got the vehicle about 5 months ago. The MPG was 12mpg then. The person I bought it from explained that he used it to haul his boat for quite a distance. Since I got it, the mileage has increased to 23.6 mpg. It keeps increasing the more I drive.

i question your calculation method because you quote the tank size. It doesn’t matter the tank size. You should be calculating the gallons it take to fill the tank to the first click on the gas pump. You should not ‘top up’ the tank where you keep clicking it after the first gas pump click, unless you are legitimately sure that the pump click is defective.
easiest method is to use a gas tracking app and be consistent. I use Fuelly. Sometimes I do get a single fluke measurement where a really good fuel economy follows a really bad one. In data analytics, you throw out or average extreme values.

Thanks for the feedback. 24.5 itself is an Amazing mileage. Bumping it to 27 by another 2.5 is plain amazing….
Add to the fact no hypermileage on highway….
Can you let us know what is the model of K&N filter. Oil or Air Filter… or both.
if you had installed the chip can you share chip make.
Also can you let us know the gas octane like 87 or 89 or 91 and where do you fill gas. Like Shell Nitro….
I am averaging 24.3 miles over 4000 miles.
Gas is Shell 87 octane
Mobil Full synthetic 5W 20 with high mileage Mobil Oil filter.
Drive very very gently and solo for most of the time with a 60/40 Highway and city.
if I drive above 70mph mileage drops significantly.
There is a 1 mile increase than summer due to AC. I don’t think nothing helped

Only monkey wrench is, The RX is primarily my wife's car. When she drives, she kills the mileage. She dropped my overall 35mpg round trip DC to Maryland commute avg. down to 30.3mpg in just a few miles. I drove the D.C commute today and managed to get the overall back up to 33.5mpg now with 143 miles traveled on the tank. I think I can get it back to 35mpg avg if she doesn't drive. I'm teaching her some techniques, but she seems to have a heavy foot. Another bit of info, I'm using 87 octane regular unleaded. If I could just find some local non-ethanol laced fuel, MPG could increase by 5-10% overall.
