Qualifying for CA 150k hybrid warranty?
Looking to buy a RX400h in the next couple of weeks and want to make sure it qualifies for the 10 year/ 150,000 mile hybrid system warranty because of all the expensive inverter failures. I'm in CA. Does anyone know what the specific requirements are to qualify?
First sold in CA?
First registered in CA?
Or just owned in CA? (i.e. if I bought an out of state car would it qualify)
Thanks for any help.

I believe the ruling was only an extension on the battery pack and not other components. Believe the rest to fall under the standard hybrid warranty.
Hybrid Vehicle System
Hybrid System Warranty coverage is for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and covers the following components: Hybrid control module, Hybrid battery control module, Hybrid battery and inverter with converter.
New customers might have luck calling Lexus Corporate at: 800-USA-LEXUS (872-5398), or existing customers can try calling the Lexus Customer Assistance Center: 1-800-255-3987

You may find it helpful to also talk to the folks at the California Air Resources Board at: 1-916-322-2990.

Keep in mind that the rules are different between hybrids and plug-in hybrids.
