I'd be careful of those dash mats. I used it on my RX, and it stuck to the center dash, and did some damage trying to peel it off. I think the hot sun and leaving it on too long had something to do with it.

Good point. I've seen this happen on cars too.

" And no compass in the mirror, if the navigation system is purchased"

Lexus added the 'compass' with the letter that used to show in the mirror into the nav compass (top left of the screen), a change from previous systems which only had the compass.

I also missed the sunglass holder and looked for a good aftermarket alternative. I ordered the Douglas 6" Auto Visor Eyeglass Caddy from Amazon.com. I put it on the passenger side visor easily within reach of the driver. It does not cover the vanity mirror and stays attached if the passenger folds the visor down. It fits decent sized sunglasses also. Very happy with this purchase.

That was one of the first things that my wife noticed, no sunglass holder.

Conundrums abound in 2013 on the ES model. All three of these features should come standard, along with the overhead sunglass holder.
Canadian Lexus ES350 has it. EDITED. (Nevermind). it's only available with basic package (no nav). (You are correct)

I have to agree re: hot sun and a phone pad on the dash. Since our cars are parked indoors all of the time, and we have a moderate climate in the summer months, this is not a problem here.

However, having worked the middle east, I would not ever contemplate putting a pad on the dash there - same goes for the southwestern / -eastern states in general. Too much heat can build inside an auto when in the sun.

Knowing that the ES300h does not and will not have a sunglass holder, no matter how much we complain and comment in 2013, here's another solution: A simple sunglass holder clip on the visor will do - I've used one on an '04 MDX. It's convenient, cheap and out of the way.

Cheap clip also ruins the visor, the item I mentioned above that I purchased from Amazon.com will not do that.

Ha! This is what I used to have years ago that I was looking for again and couldn't find. Thanks!

These are very nice.
