Default Corroding Rear Electric Motor Cable Shroud

Know this is an old thread but just wondered if there is a definative answer to this.

Have the same corrosion issue on mine as pictured and the metal web has totally disintegrated.

Understand replacement cale, and labour is megabucks.

Do I just leave it or anything else that can be done.

Thanks
chris

Just leave it, the braided wire you see is just the outer ground/noise shield that does not carry the power. No need to worry unless your hybrid system stops working. Haven't heard of this happening yet.

I was told by the sales rep that since this is part of the hybrid system, it's covered under the hybrid components warranty. How true that is, I don't want to find out at this point in time, but it makes sense....

I wonder if rust killer would hurt the wiring if brushed on. It definitely kills corrosion and turns everything black in color....I would probably try some on a spot and see what happens.

Certainly the rusted mounting would benefit but would think twice about getting it near/0n the orange cable or connectors.
