I had heard rumors of this but reading the article seems as if the line for the 450h is under construction now.

I won't say I hate change and "why fix what isn't broke" but I will try to find the positives in it as Lexus has seemingly done. At least we should be able to get special orders a tad quicker.

The pursuit of F
I live 30 miles from the Cambridge plant where my F-Sport was built. Transport and Dealer prep fees - 1895$
On a more positive note, I'm not concerned at all with the the "Made in Canada" label from a quality perspective - heck that plant has won top global quality awards, but if I had a choice, I would like to have a "Made in Japan" label, just for the "authenticity" and everything that label stands for.

Very interesting article.
Does look like the 450h is coming to Canada. The new assembly line is bound to have some improvements, and Canada should be a better location for production long term. Just hope all the training of employees goes smoothly, and that the quality compares with Japan made. I'm sure Toyota realizes this, and I'm counting on them when it's time for my next RX hybrid.

I'm not sure I can find the article but if someone else can the plant in Japan that builds the Hybrids was considered the most modern in the world. For instance, the work areas were completely surrounded with water curtains to virtually eliminate the smallest dust particle.

Thanks Bert, that was a good link. Fooling around in there I also found the Best in class award for value, not too shabby http://pressroom.toyota.com/releases...cars+money.htm
Jim, perhaps this article covers part of what you remember. It's about CT200h from Sept 2010, but talks about many of the manufacturing technologies (including the water curtain) going on at Kyushu where all the hybrids including RXh have been made to date.
