Default Multiple LS600hL's selling for under $40K/low $30s nowadays

Wow, prices are coming down in a hurry as of late. I was on cars.com and noticed about 8 LS600hL's (2008 model year) sellling for below $40K! One in the very low $30s with a reported accident but still gets a carfax guarantee. Might be some good deals to be had out there if you are not overly concerned about higher mileage in some cases, just be sure to get these cars inspected to make sure there is not more to the story. Don't rely on CarFax alone, it is only as good as what is reported to it.

Most times, the market knows all. "Good deals" are only to be had when imperfect information exists on the parts of buyers and/or sellers. Where and what is the evidence that is in play here?

I would love to trade mine for a 600hL. I want the air suspension and the longer wheel base.

Not sure what you are asking, this is the first time I noticed prices this low..since I haven't checked since this summer. I clearly stated "might" be some good deals to be had..folks need to do their own homework and figure that out

There are ALWAYS occasional "good deals" available depending on particular motivations of buyers and sellers. What I was trying to point out is that there rarely exists a situation where most or all deals are good ones. An expensive vehicle, when new, will lose its value over time, sometimes in large decrements as the costs of repairs and maintenance go up, competition intensifies, tastes and/or regulations change, etc. You have apparently been taken unawares by one of these larger than usual price drops, leading you to conclude "good deals" are generally available. I suspect not. That was the point of my post.

I hear what you are saying, but I am not saying "good deal" as a matter of fact...it is all about research, comparing apples to apples and if someone can save $8K from one dealer to the next for a car that checks out clean..then why not? That would be a good deal...good deal is a subjective term with plenty of room for interpretation, thats no lie. With price ranges all over the map, one dealer may be willing to sell for less because they need to move it and still will clear a profit...so, there are times when car buyers win if they play their cards right. The dealerships need us..we don't need them "except for warranty repairs" lol.
