Some Lexus' other than the 600 had the annoying dash squeak/rattle. My old 2008 GX470 had the infamous dash rattle from the first day I bought it with 20 miles on it and it was also a TSIB. My LS600 has a slight squeak/rattle in the left back part of the dash when I go over an uneven bump. It is not loud and with both of these vehicles I just lived with it and got used to it but it is really annoying at first. I just don't trust anyone taking apart my dash and making sure it goes back together correctly.

To the OP, just curious how many miles are on your LS600? I know if my car had the problems you are having it would be gone, either bought back or traded on something else unless the financial hit was too big.

While I swapped my LS460 dash over for an LS600 dash for the leather I had the extra padding added as well. The dash removal/install is actually a lot easier than people are making it out to be. I was in and out of the dealership within 2 hours.

The LS600 in question has 34k miles on it. Many of the transmission/engine repairs have been covered by the 7/70 and they have agreed to cover the other repairs since they seemed to have been caused by the invasive nature of the drive train work.

I am attempting to get the shocks covered under goodwill and then have them cover a 5y/60k mile platinum warranty which is almost bumper to bumper. From top management to the local service department, Lexus is embarrassed as to the issues with their Flagship. So far, they have been rising to the occasion.

If Lexus takes care of the shocks and throws in (or heavily discounts) the warranty, I will stick with the car and drop the buyback procedures. Sadly, the trade in value is far too low for me to stomach and the other long wheel base premium sedans such as the XJL, A8L or S550 are anything but exciting, and from what I hear, troublesome.

Hmm...Definitely NOT the way my guys operate. Today was SEVEN HOURS for oil change, tire rotation (no wheel locks), and setting five dealer-only customization options. Do you think your guys might could spend some of their gobs of FREE TIME working on my unti? Please?

Since 01/13 the following items have been replaced:

eCVT Transmission (MG1 and MG2)
A/C Compressor
Climate Blower Motor
Water Pump
Climate Control Modules
Wiring Harness behind dash (it was supposedly a TSIB and the ENTIRE dash was R/R)
Numerous other control units, sensors, computers, etc..

The car is now in need of new shocks ($7500) which were perfect before the wheels hung from a lift for 2 months.

What started with a slipping transmission has spiraled into an epic disaster. The dealer is realizing that many of the items that are now in need of replacement are because of the 9 weeks of removing and reinstalling hundreds of components. They are as tired of the car as I am and the total repair bill is approaching $32K (not including the shocks.) Lexus has picked up the bill for all of it.

However, I am now left with a vehicle (that was once assembled with exacting standards) that has been disassembled and reassembled so many times I believe the long term reliability and quality is now gone.

I am considering a trade or working with Lexus to take back this enormously expensive lemon.

I just wanted to share my experience.

David
Damn man I'm sorry to hear of all of the issues! I'd do as said before and contact Lexus and request a new car ASAP!

You are driving a lemon. Make some lemonade and move on. Lexus should have offered to unload the car for you long before the repair bill got that big. I hate hearing stories like this. Sad.

I hope he got some help with all of these issues. When I bought my LS it was a big deal. Its the Lexus that I always wanted. I know what he is feeling because of my vibration issues. You buy this car you have always wanted , then all you are doing after is wondering if you made the right choice. It a horrible feeling driving a car that you hate or regret.
