Ok, so I received the CD + Cable from the ebay seller in china. This software is really great. I changed most of the settings to my liking.

Thanks so much for the tip! Best $28 I've spent in a long time.

Would you mind sharing the details. I am looking to customize my 400h as well.

Thanks

No problem, so you had no problems with installation? This software car do anything lexus can do. It can even reprogram keys ( i did mine). The trunk button is my favorite setting to change

The $28 package consists of a OBDII to USB cable & software disk. The software is the same as the dealer uses to access diagnostics, trouble codes and change settings on your car. I used it to change the 2 step door unlocking (drivers door first) to one button all door unlock as I have kids. I also changed my auto headlights to come on sooner as I found the original setting required too much darkness. There is about 20 items you can change / modify. You can also program a new key, check any stored codes and cycle the brakes which is the only way to change the brake fluid. There is a description of all of the function in a dialog box and you can restore to factory settings at anytime.

I copied the CD to a flash drive and installed it on a netbook running Windows 7 starter. After installing the SW and USB driver, I was up and running. See this amazon link for product reviews.

Got the bad news on the actuator for our 2008 RX 400h yesterday and found this thread when we were quoted $2700. Dealer said it is "not a safety issue," but is checking up the chain of command to see if they can do anything for us. Has anyone used the techstream to bleed the air from the fluid? Anyone have experience with Toyota replacing the actuator assembly for a lower price than Lexus?

Thanks in advance.

Ouch. Sorry about that. There are members who have used the techstream to bleed the brakes so I know that is possible. Out of curiosity, how often did you bleed your brakes in the past? I am wondering if bleeding every 2 years can prevent this failure.

TSIB BR 003-7 details how the brakes are bled using their device and I assume this would apply to the techstream. Does anyone have a copy of the bulletin they could attach? I cannot find mine.

Will have to check our service records. I don't know when the last (or first) time the brakes were bled. Hope to find the bulletin Wyle describes as well. Thanks.
