New ls600hl owner
Just traded my 2004 ls430 for this beautiful 2008 600hl. Its starfire pearl over alabaster interior. 42k miles for $36k one owner in very good condition. I live in NY and it was located in west Virgina so i had to drive 8 hours to get that car. It was the best drive home I ever had. I enjoyed it too much (got a speeding ticket in Maryland SMDH) This car is nothing short of amazing! this will be my 4th Lexus and I cannot be more proud of the brand. I bought it from a Mercedes dealership and even the rep said only the new s class has the features this car has and its 7 years old. Its in a league of its own. The power is paramount, the fit and finish is amazing, the smooth of the ride is superb.
2 things i notice though. when making a sharp turn from a stand still there seems to be some weird vibration that feels like its coming from underneath the car that i cant figure out if its something wrong or its natural. also when i just washed my car, i notice some condensation inside the right head light housing.
I have a SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to CJITTY for all the guidance that you gave me on this purchase. I have been pestering this guy for at least 6 months about this car and he has always came through with answers to my questions. Always in a timely manner and thorough!
Also would like to thank TEE and Gojirra99 for there help as well.
Just washed her cause of the snow i had to drive through on the way home. now without further due. Here she is!

Hey! Major congratulations on the purchase! The 600 is the "flagship of the flagship" as Tee and Jitty say! They, especially Tee were incredibly helpful and instrumental regardingy somewhat recent purchase. Great guys!
Your car looks great-absolutely love the color combo as SFP is a coveted favorite!
Enjoy and congrats once again!

Congratulations!!! Gorgeous car!!! The vibration is AWD TSB to replace the transfer case fluid. I hope you are in the powertrain warranty, the fluid is very expensive. Search the forum, you will find the TSB code. Dealers know about it, just mention the symptoms. Good Luck!

Congrats on a very rare color combo not just for a 600 but also for a 460, Starfire Pearl is my #1 pick #2 is the color I have now. The shutter you feel while turning is a known issue with the early 600's, like hfahmy posted the dealers know about it. Enjoy your beautiful LS!

I also had the Drivetrain Shudder problem HFAHMY mentioned. There is a TSB out on this problem, and it is covered under the Powertrain warranty (6 years). It's likely your car is no longer under this warranty. My car was also beyond the Powertrain warranty, but I was able to convince Lexus to cover the repair anyway as a show of good will. I recommend you take it to a local Lexus dealer and ask them to request an exception to the coverage so they can make the repair for you at no cost. It's actually not a repair, the fix simply involves replacing the Rear Differential fluid with some "Magic Oil" three times, with a 1-mile drive in between each change. This solved my problem completely, and it has not returned yet (10K miles later).
Good luck and welcome to the 600hL Family!

One other issue that seems to impact many of the 2008 600hLs is a problematic wind noise coming from the plastic triangle at the front of both drivers' and passengers' side front windows. If your car has this problem, it will be most persistent during a heavy cross-wind (wind coming from left, you'll hear the noise from the right side, and vice-versa). There's a fix for this problem, with extensive coverage on this forum. I did the fix on my car, and the wind noise (while still present), is quite a bit better.
