Smashed LS600HL - looking for help with the details
#31
Wet sanding and orange peel has been added to my list. Good points. Thanks jainla!
Mine now has 4 dimples around the sunroof (one in each corner). I'm probably going to head over to the collision center today or tomorrow, I'll see if I can snap a pic. I'll have to check the center line as well.

@raptorht - I work for a rather large insurance company as an estimator/claim adjuster. I can tell you that those sunroof "dimples" you are referring to are directly related to your rear end impact. This is caused by the energy traveling up from the rear impact through the quarter panels and into the roof. Your car basically "flexed" on impact and sunroof model vehicles are particularly susceptible to these dimples. If you are repairs are already at 16k, I can imagine they will increase more as repairs are commenced. Not sure what state you are in but it all works based on repair value to vehicle value . In florida at 70-80% I would move/suggest to total a vehicle.

Insist on getting these sunroof dimples repaired. This might total the car... never ever be attached to a car...If they give you $30K for it, you can get this one with $9K more http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...07622356&Log=0

What part of GA are you in?
Alpharetta
Make sure they pay for an equal quality rental for you also
They gave me a Camry SE to tool around in....
Not quite an equal quality, but I wasn't really expecting them to have an equivalent at Enterprise. No biggie, it will just make the ride that much sweeter when I get it back. It's all a matter of what you have gotten used to!

After 3 months my car is finally back and looks great. Now I am having trouble with the insurance company refusing to pay for the last month's rental charges..... My personal cc got charged with $1200+ from Enterprise for rental fees.
Ugh, I loathe insurance......
Thanks for letting me vent!

Call the State Insurance Commissioner's office and ask them to help you. It's not your fault their insured rear-ended you!

Very sorry for all the grief you went through. It's just fortunate no one was hurt. Glad you got the car back. Run it through the paces carefully look and listening for anything out of place. As for the rental, call your card company and have it removed. If you have a lawyer, they can easily take care of the deal. If not, keep after the insurance company and don't relent. You are, after all, the victim.

Keith,
Thanks so much for this tip. Wouldn't you know it, after I opened the complaint with the GA Department of Insurance, the insurance company reversed their position and agreed to reimburse me for the rental car.
This forum is the best.
Thanks everyone,
Jason
