Default S550e vs LS600hL

It's not exactly fair to compare a 2007 to a 2015, but have at it:

Wouldn't even be a choice, I'd take the S550e

I would say I wouldn't take any Mercedes even if it were given to me. But actually, I'd take it and sell it and by a real car.

Leasing, I'd go S class, owning, I'd probably go LS.

Even owning, I could never spend $120,000 on a new LS600hL, its just not worth that compared to the S Class you could get for that money.

The LS is a great car, but IMHO its a great car $90,000 and below. When you get over $90,000 there are more compelling more modern options, the S Class is one, new 7 is another, A8 is yet another.

After a few years of driving the S550 and the warranty expires it will become a gigantic money pit, plus depreciate quickly. I'll take my chances with a LS 600hL.

Nobody's likely to keep it that long, and if you're buying a car that expensive...you probably don't care. That's why the S Class outsells the LS 4:1 despite being much more expensive.
