Tow package
Hi .Have ordered a loaded RX405h. Planned deilvery in january. I ordered this with a trailer hitch. My worries are that when I spoke to the salesman yesterday, he said there was no tow package for this car,,They would mount the hitch before delivery. Really? is there no tow package? I suppose this car do not need any tansmssion cooler, but other things? May You being towing tell me if the backing sensors are disabeled when in reverse with a trailer? My 3RX don't, and I am afraid also this is because of a missing towing package.

Thank You! I was unshore aboud trans cooler and alternator since this is a hybrid. This establish that "tow package" is a definated option. I suppose this car also has trailer Sway Control. Anybody knows about this?

My 2016 RX450h F Sport came with the factory Towing Pre Pkg: Transmission Cooler, Heavy Duty Alternator/Radiator, but the Lexus website indicated that installation of the factory tow hitch on the 450h F Sport would require removal of the Performance Damper and Stabilizer Bar, which I find unacceptable. I recently checked with my Lexus dealer Parts Manager and he was unaware of this and could not confirm this for 2017. He provided parts numbers and I had the factory hitch installed this week. The Hitch is p/n PT228-48160 ($550) and there is a replacement Trim Panel Extension Sub-Assembly p/n 52108-0E060 ($160.52). The Parts Manager quoted installation $333 for labor, which seems to be 2 - 3 hours; it actually took 5 1/4 hours. Labor included installing the trailer wiring, which came with the hitch. Labor also included trimming the aero panel in front of the bumper. I'm not impressed with the trim job - appears like a rookie, but am happy to have a factory hitch.

Yikes, looks like they had to cut into the upper trim piece too for your installation. I ordered Curt C13282 for my 450h F Sport and it required trimming the bottom piece but not the top.
This is the second hitch I've installed and it took about 1.5 hours with the help from my dad. The hardest part was torquing the six bolts to the proper specification of 86 ft-lbs.

Can this be removed? Found an F-sport and it has this option. I dont plan on using the hitch and I hate the way it looks from the back... please tell me I can remove it entirely...

No doubt it can be removed. Just unbolt it.
