Lexus GS450h air conditioning system
The a/c needs re gassing and I have been told by two independent garages whom I trust that it is different to any other because of the oils that the hybrid system uses. Does anyone know for sure?

They're correct. Traditional AC systems use an oil called PAG oil. Very very common. The hybrid AC systems use an oil called nd11. Its an oil that is non conductive. The PAG can introduce water into the system which can short the AC compressor. Be glad they were aware enough to tell you as if the system is contaminated, you would have to replace multiple parts. Hth.
