Yes I used a similar smart charger with AGM setting to charge my battery on my 300h still connected without issues. I imagine removing it is even safer.

I don't think you have to remove it. Just connect it directly.

Default No jump points under the hood on 2014 es300h, Canadian model.

the MG that is attached to the IC motor. All the 12vdc battery is doing is closing a relay to
enable that to happen. Dead 12v...no action. The observation that the 12v battery has a
smaller CCA rating than we are used to is related to the real use of the 12v is limited to just
the low draw systems such as the LED lights, Nav/Stereo, windshield wiper/washers and the
biggest draw, the rear window defogger!
I drove home 25 miles to check on my computer for boosting instructions. There were several videos, and they were all wrong. Mine had no boosting point in the fuse panel under the hood.
Eventually I discovered that the hidden key in the fob would fit into the trunk latch in a hidden slot to the left of the back up light. It was too hard for me to turn, but the tow truck guy knew the mechanism because BMWs also have it. He told me he turned it hard to the left, and the trunk opened. Then he boosted straight to the battery terminals and the car started immediately.

In weather that began at -35 below F as we began our journey, this whole debacle was the worst sort of aggravation.

Default Purchased OEM for $290 total at local Lexus

Keeping it OEM. $290 out the door at my local Lexus.
Amazing that the original was from 2014 with 190,000 miles.
This should last until I can afford a heavily depreciated LC.

When I checked with local Lexus and Toyota in Raleigh, NC, the price of OEM battery ranges $315 - $375 plus tax which makes total about $335-$400. Did you ask any discount, price matching or was it on sale?

I checked the websites of all 4 local Lexus dealers.
The Toyota dealership right next to the Lexus had it at $450 eek
I don't plan on every selling the car so figured the gas savings will pay for it in the next 2-3 years. It's my traveling salesman car so many miles and road trips are coming up.

Getting 39 mpg after OEM battery change. This might be a placebo effect but the transition from battery to motor is a lot smoother, my engine use to shake before where I thought I needed new engine mounts.

As soon as car goes into the "READY" state the 12v bus voltage is controlled by the inverter (typically jumps to 14.4V). I cannot imagine any possible way it would affect fuel economy - so it must be a placebo effect.

As to all people claiming otherwise - look at this wonder "drug" on Amazon. 25k reviews and 87% of them positive 5-star. Sugar pill placebo effect to the max!

Many people have used a good aftermarket AGM battery and hacked the vent tube or didnt do it at all.

No need for the tube on AGM.

The only thing that could cause the miles drops would be that when disconnecting the 12v, the ECM will reset and all of the "Learned" ECM adjustments would be lost and have to relearn your driving habits. This is why when I replaced my battery I hooked up a 12v to the "Jump Connector" under the hood to keep the ECM alive during the battery swap process.
