Acid smell when accelerating 2012 450h
My Lexus has 154,000 km and my battery is trouble free. The only concern I have is that recently when I depressed the gas petal on the autoroute at 100K to pass a car and both the gaz engine and the battery motors were activated there was an acid smell in the car Is this normal with a five years old battery. Feedback would be appreciated

Lead Lap
I have not noticed (nor have I read any reports of) any smell from my 2013 RXh with 106,000 km.
Since the traction battery vents to the exterior of the car, and the A/C draws air from the front of the car, my first suspicion would suggest that you drove through the smell (as opposed to having somehow generated it).
Can you replicate the situation?

Only acid is in the lead-acid 12v battery ... which is located in the rear hatch.
Open up the cover and do a visual. use gloves if you find the area moist.
