Doesn't anyone know the difference between GYL10 and GYL15? Can you tell which one you have by your VIN number, or is the model enough to tell? Will the manual that came with the car tell you? My VIN begins: JTJBC1BA5D2......

no need to look at vin. The model is on the doorsill plate. Yes 2wd vs 4wd.

The Lexus GS350 GRL10 and GRL15 refer to different generations and configurations of the GS350. Here are the key differences:
### **GRL10**
1. **Generation**: The GRL10 represents the fourth generation of the Lexus GS350, produced from 2012 to 2017.
2. **Drive Configuration**: The GRL10 is typically used to denote the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version of the GS350.
3. **Platform**: It is built on the Toyota N platform, which it shares with other Lexus models like the IS and RC.
4. **Engine and Performance**: The GRL10 is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, producing around 306 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
5. **Features and Options**: It comes with various luxury features, including advanced infotainment systems, premium materials, and a range of safety and driver assistance technologies.
### **GRL15**
1. **Generation**: The GRL15 is also part of the fourth generation of the Lexus GS350, produced during the same period from 2012 to 2017.
2. **Drive Configuration**: The GRL15 specifically denotes the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of the GS350.
3. **Platform**: Like the GRL10, it is built on the Toyota N platform.
4. **Engine and Performance**: The GRL15 also has a 3.5-liter V6 engine but with slight variations in performance due to the AWD system. It produces around the same horsepower but may have different handling and traction characteristics.
5. **Features and Options**: The GRL15 offers similar luxury and technology features as the GRL10, with the added benefit of AWD for better traction in various driving conditions.
### **Summary of Differences**:
- **Drive Configuration**: The primary difference is the drive configuration, with the GRL10 being rear-wheel drive and the GRL15 being all-wheel drive.
- **Handling**: The GRL15's AWD system provides better handling and stability in adverse weather conditions, while the GRL10's RWD setup might offer a more traditional sports sedan driving experience.
- **Performance Variations**: While both have the same engine, the AWD system in the GRL15 can affect overall driving dynamics and fuel efficiency compared to the RWD GRL10.
These differences cater to varying driver preferences and needs, with the GRL15 offering enhanced traction and stability and the GRL10 focusing more on a classic rear-wheel-drive experience.
