Everyone has been very helpful and informative.
i wonder why they go away from dual pane windows.
maybe they are using a thicker single glass like ford did
on newer f150’s.

now this leads me to know which year has an awesome Bluetooth. No need for me to buy a 2016
if the 2014 is good. Assuming both are ML package

I am also curious which year should I go for. No sense spending more money on a newer model if it’s not actually better.

is the Bluetooth better?
gas mileage is the same
is cooled seats better in newer models?

The main improvements over the years of the 6th gen are with navigation and safety features. There was the obvious face-lift in 2016, too. As far as the seats, none are cooled. They are ventilated, as in, they act like a fan.

I had 2013 Generation 6 ES, and I now have a 2017 Generation 6 ES.

Comparing those 2 model years, I see no difference at all with regard to Bluetooth performance.

Fuel economy has been virtually identical.

With regard to the ventilated seats, with my 2013 ES, air flow was quite minimal. With the 2017 ES air flow has noticeably higher volume. I suspect that Lexus made some unannounced modifications to increase the air flow somewhere along the line between those 2 model years.

As Mike points out, the 2017 and 2018 ES have a Generation 9 navigation system, which has some very nice improvements, especially with regard to voice command capabilities, compared with the Generation 7 and Generation 8 navigation systems on the 2013-2016 ES. Also, starting with the 2017 model year, the Lexus Safety System+ became standard on all ES.

Sorry I should have used the word ventilated (recirculates the cabin air)

Do you know there were no improvements to the Bluetooth from 2013 to 2016?
suspension for ride quality the same?
