New or Original Coolant during Water Pump Service

New or Original Coolant during Water Pump Service
Is it at all possible for a shop to reuse coolant if a new water pump is installed?
I am at 119,000 miles and with past service history, I don't see any mention of coolant service.
During 96K, I had a new water pump installed because there was a leak present, but unsure if new coolant was used.
Also, what are the service interval like for (both ICE and Inverter) coolant on the 400H? I've read some from 100k and 150k, however I know I need to change them soon given it's age (Feb 2009).
Does water pump only affect the ICE coolant, or does it also affect the inverter coolant?

Inverter has its own pump and is on its own circuit. Inverter coolant cools down MGs.
If you went to lengths of replacing pump, why in the world would you not replace coolant also? It's small expense.
Toyota Long Life coolant is 150 000 miles.

I brought the car in for a pre purchase inspection, and the mechanics discovered that the water pump is leaking, so I had them replace the water pump. He never mentioned anything about replacing the coolant and I didn't know anything about the car at the time since I haven't gotten a chance to look up its past service record. 150k, gotcha..thank you!

Rouge, yes they can. best to ask the shop if they did. Chances is that they replace the water pump with out fully draining the system and then topped it off with the coolant brand they use. Whole ICE system total has about 2.5 gallons, About a gallon in the radiator, 0.5 in the heator core and the rest in the engine and hoses. Most people on this forum use the OEM Toyota coolant that ukrkoz pointed out.

I would be guessing that when the water pump gets replaced by a Toyota dealership service center, the old coolant will NOT be reused. This is due to their work processes. The Toyota dealership simply won't have a container that they can catch the old coolant for reuse - the tech will just be using the roll around coolant waste collector. And later they will just top up with fresh SLLC, bu not do a full system flush. Which means your cooling system will have mostly new coolant and some residual old coolant. Good for quite a number of miles from here on.
Anyhow, you should be able to see the coolant colour when you open the cap (please don't do this when its hot, of course!)
It would be a nice bright pink colour. Don't look at what's in the expansion tank but look at what's underneath the radiator cap.
One function of coolant is to lubricate the water pump, so that's another reason why the service center will be using fresh coolant - they won't want you coming back with a warranty claim due to failure of the newly installed pump sometime down the track.
