Buying 2008 LS600hL low mileage
Hello, I'm just about to buy a 2008 LS600hL with 88,000 km (about 55k miles).
I had the car mechanically check by a Lexus dealer, everything is ok recalls have been done including valves springs.
Today I test drive the car, I notice a sort of drone sound at low speed when accelerating slowly, and cannot tell if it comes from the mufflers or the electric motors in the transmission.
On the owner manual, it says some sounds are normal for an hybrid car, but I'm afraid to get annoyed by that sound on the long run.
I've try to find some info on this forum about that sound but I did not find anything.
PLEASE some advice from LS owners.

Not sure if you are aware, but there have been some instances of the brake actuator failing which could lead to a $3k and up repair. The actuator may no longer not be covered under warranty, so you should prepare for that in the future if you purchase the LS600h. Search this site for some threads on it. And it's normal for all CVT's to drone when accelerating.

Thank you LS forum members to take time to answer me it's appreciated very much.
I will check the insulator.
It's the first time I drove a CVT transmission and it's good to know what fb182 said at the end of his response: it's normal for all CVT's to drone when accelerating.

[QUOTE=Oliver Enterprises;10141333]Exhaust Vents do wonders for covering up mechanical noises! [/QUOTE
I wonder what they would sound like for a Hybrid. It does have a 5.0 V8!

OP, congratulations!
And I'll publicly admit I need to take some pics for you (from a very old exchange we had on the subject). This is a good reminder.
