Default Tempted by 2010 LS600hL

As I blissfully have been driving my new-to-me 2010 LS460L AWD for the past 3 months, I've made the mistake of continuing to check out CarGurus while bored, and have come upon a pretty amazing deal on a LS600hL that I now can't "unsee..."

For those who know my background, I was a happy owner of a 2008 LS600hL for 3 years, but decided to make the jump to the newer, more modern Genesis G90 last summer. I enjoyed the G90 quite a bit, but really missed my LS, and when I had a chance to sell my G90 back to the dealer without losing any money (it was a pretty spectacular lease deal originally), I jumped at it. I then searched for my next LS for a few weeks, targeting LS600s and LS460L AWD models. I finally settled on a very nice 2010 LS460L AWD, smoky granite mica with black interior, 91k miles. I bought it for $21,600 from Lexus of Omaha in Feb, and have been enjoying it ever since.

But now I see there's been a local trade-in of a very rare Peridot Mica (dark green) 2010 LS600hL loaded with every possible option (Executive Seating pkg 2, DRCC, LKA, etc., original sticker price was $126,600). The car is a 1-owner and has been fully serviced at Lexus of Omaha since new, with virtually no problems reported. It has 66k miles and appears flawless. Even better, the dealer is willing to cut me a pretty nice trade for this unique car - his opening bid is my car plus $9k trade difference, which seems pretty amazing to me. The idea that I can own a LS600hL that stickered roughly $46k more than my LS460L, that has 27k fewer miles, for a trade difference of only $9k seems pretty tempting. I am fully aware that the batteries could fail on the LS600, costing me upwards of $5-6k to replace, but I so very much loved how quiet and powerful my old LS600hL was that I'm really considering this deal.

Here's a link to the LS600hL: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=204122922

I'm going to head to the dealer today to do a thorough test drive and walk-around of this car. Any advice for me from the forum on this car? Thanks!

I drove the G80 and sat in the G90 and checked it out...almost bought a G80 before I got the LS460 last week. I thought the G90 was really nice, surprised you gave it up.
I would probably go for this car if it is what you want, it looks like it is really rare. On batteries I do not know the cost, but I just met a guy in MO who has a Prius, he knows a guy in Iowa who drives around and comes to your place and replaces the Prius battery for $800...worth asking about the LS.

Go for it. I really need 5 seater, otherwise would've grabbed it .

If you remember I did mention in your other thread that after owning 600 it would be hard to adjust to 460

I agree, 126k car for one fourth of the price is hard to beat. This one comes closer to MB 550 !.

I don't want to cut the line, Rick where are you ????????

Heck, even I feel like buying it

Solid starting point dollar-wise; I haven't done any research on this but hope you can shrink that difference a bit.

FWIW, like you, I am always on Car-friggin-gurus... I'd love to go 2013+ at some point, but they surely don't equip them the way they used to (e.g., RSES)...

EDIT (in case I wasn't clear): GET IT!!! (if it passes all basic tests when you see it, of course)

Indeed, the first 4th Gen LS to have AWD until it was added as an option in MY2009 on the 460.

The Prius battery is easily replaced because it has removable cells. The LS 600 battery is not like that (I believe the cells are riveted in), which is probably why I haven't seen an easy aftermarket replacement yet.

Why care much about $4k battery when $126 car is being sold at one fourth of the price?. I would add $4 to the purchase price and put that in savings account.......

BTW, what do you with that 17 LX with just only 7.3k miles?. Put that on a flat bed truck and drive point A to B ???
