Default 08 LS600HL shocks are dying need guidance

Hi Guys,

First of all I am super new to this. I was introduced to the site by one of my colleague. I own a 2008 LS600HL. I love that car and pretty much drove all around North America and Canada in it. Just hit the 125k mark last week. I am having issues with the air ride. Last week on my trip back from Vegas it started making clunking sound from the front right. Took it into Lexus and my advisor told me about the air shocks going out. The cost to replace all 4 is just not worth it in my opinion. I thought about just switching it over to coil overs.
Th only problem is that wherever I read online it talks about coilover for LS460 no mention of 600HL so any help in that department will be appreciated. I do not want to get rid of it.

Thanks

Of course the advisor would love for you to replace all of them...$$$$ is all they see. Believe me ...they dont all go bad at the same time like they make it seem like. Its normally a good policy to replace in pairs. Can you replace one at a time as they age ...absolutely. because you have a 600 which is awd..replacement options are little scarce compared rwd for front struts. I saw some good used oem struts on ebay for 300 to 500....you can also order reman chinese units and give them a shot. Goodluck . My advice though is try to keep the air .

This car is been the best purchase for me due to maintenance and reliability. My S550 was a nightmare and don't get me started on my 750i.

That is the only reason I want to keep it longer only if I can find a way to switch over to coil over setup.

Both of my rears are gone on my 460L. So I just went ahead pulled all four and went aftermarket, but for your inquiry the coils for the ls460 fit just make sure you get the AWD/RWD specific ones for your drive line. I would stay away from the china replacement there have been members on here that tried them and went coils after the china air struts went out in 10km
