and vice versa in the reverse there’s gonna be people who think there should be so there’s gonna be people think there should not be
Y’all should all know by now you can’t make everyone happy and if you don’t wanna go into the hybrid section you’ll have to you can continue posting what you want in the regular gas only section but it would be nice to have something specific

Just head to NX hybrid forum and see how useless it is. 6 years and total of 32 threads. Only half of those are actually specific to hybrids. With maybe 5 of those having useful info.

Lexus hybrid traction batteries can last a very long time, my 2007 GS450h had 262k miles on original battery and would have gone 300k miles easy if it wasnt totalled by hitting a deer last year.
Had a 2013 GS450h with 150k miles no problem, until it was totalled in a rear end collision this year.
My current car 2013 ES300h has 179k miles on it now and runs like a champ original everything.
There are many taxis running the same engine in NYC with over 400k miles easy.

thank you for this video
it is a little overwhelming at first a bit fo anxiety over will I be able to do it without doing more bad than good
im the guy who put the computer back together and I forgot to plug the internal battery back into my laptop I realized so had to take the entire laptop apart again just to do that all because I wanted to upgrade the ram lol.
BUt i think I can do this.
my question is since I'm not taking the entire battery out all I'm going for is the Fan to the HV battery do I even need to remove the back seat at all ? bottom or top
or should I be able to get that fan out without having to remove eth ebakc seat parts also ?
another side note off this topic
i spoke with Dave one of the forum administrator and he said that when he has a moment near the PC he will start to work on a separate area for the ES hybrid since the other models have them he will work on that for the ES also

I have not started the filter installation process, but it appears from instruction included in this original forum, the rear seat needs to be removed to remove the Side bolster. If the fan motor needs cleaning service, than the trim in the trunk likely requires removal as well to remove the fan. In my google searching, I found something online that looks like it may be a snap on filter to the existing side bolster. I figured for $13 I'd order it, but it has no dimensions and doesn't specify applications, so I'm not optimistic. If it works, I'll update the posting, as a simple removable clip on filter would be better than pulling the car apart to check/clean the internal filter.
Note: Other sites caution working around the High Voltage battery to avoid killing yourself - so care is important if you go into the battery compartment.

I'm late to this game as I just found out about this HV battery Cooling Fan and filter cautions from a youtube video from the Car Care Nut Guy (Toyota tech, Hybrid Specialist). What I have found is earlier ES300h (at least 2015 & before) have no filter installed. I found and ordered a filter G92DH-33040 ($4+) from Lexus. Expecting a clip on mesh from the outside, I actually received a hair net. The Car Care Nut Guy responded to my question, where does this go, with that the driver side rear side seat bolster (plastic trim with the intake grate by the door) needs to be removed and the filter (hairnet) installed over the inlet of the duct. He recommends buying a cheap flexible inspection camera to look up the duct into the fan to see if it requires removal and cleaning. Obviously easier to borescope inspect and avoid pulling everything in the trunk out as well, if it doesn't require service. If you don't want to install the mesh, I suspect you could borescope the fan motor without removing anything, just go thru the bolster opening.

I also installed the inlet filter on my 2015 ES300h, P/N G92DH-33040. Suggestion removing seat back, after removing the 4 bolts at the bottom of the seat back, wrap the 4 attachment tabs with tape/foam. I learned the hard way after scratching the plastic side bolster as the seat was maneuvered out the door.

Hi there,
I just got recently 2013 ES 300h .I was thinking that will behave same as GS450h model 2008.when hybrid battery pack is faulty.
When I had problem with Hybrid battery pack on GS450h message just popped out check hybrid system ,replace hybrid battery.....so Car was still drivable but no regenerative braking and no hybrid assistance.
I was ablce to start and stop car any time. Fuel milage was awful but at least I was not stranded .
after replacing bad battery cell car was back to normal.
2nd time when same thing happened I was using OBD 2 reader to reset fault for hybrid and car was still running for couple days. After trhat I have rebuild battery pack with new battery cells from camry and prius and car was fine. NOw we have about 560 000 km ...yes it is not typing mistake 560 000 km.lexus is great.
so now I just wondering if the 2013 6th generation ES 300 h has same LIMP MODE available when battery pack is faulted?? Couple youtube videos showed that ES 300h will not start but same guy on other video says that he had to remove negative battery lead from 12 volt battery in the trunk and leave it for one minute and car will start and drive but no hybrid support.
Can somebody confirm this for ES 300h model please.

I have a 2013 lexus hybrid and I have sometimes have to take the negative battery lead off because of the error message saying check hybrid battery then the engine light comes on and some other dash lights. After putting the battery lead back on the car is back to normal and runs perfect.

I don't know where you obtained that statistic but I don't believe it. I am aware of one Camry that had its drive battery replaced right around that 120K point (at ten years old), but I know of quite a few that have exceeded that. A Prius taxi I recently rode in was at 230K and was still going strong with original battery and original brakes. I have owned hybrids since 2006 and never read or seen any indication that they tend to fail around the 120k mark, although to be fair I have never owned a hybrid beyond about 55K miles and 5 years of age.
As to cleaning the blower motor (and apparently there is a filter as well), I have heard about that - although I haven't heard if it is a regular maintenance item. It would certainly make sense that it be considered a scheduled/planned maintenance item if lack of cleaning is potentially detrimental to the battery life. I haven't checked, but do you know if this is on the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule?
