Sub and amp advice needed
Hello,
i have a 2008 RX400h and was considering putting in a 1200w RMS amp with a 1000w RMS sub. Has anyone put something like this in without causing any electrical issue? My obvious concern is if this will 1) significantly and negatively disrupt the electeical system and 2) will both batteries maintain proper recharge.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Do you actually plan on running 1000w+?
The rx400h maintains the 12v system via a DC-DC converter/inverter from the traction battery. It has a 120 amp fusible link. Theoretical max before blowing that link is 14v * 120A = 1680W. However, consider the fact that while the car is running, there are other things using power. You may be pushing it.

I brought the sub and amp as a used package. I am not a bass head and will likely only run this at .25 to .5 gain.
thanks for the feedback..maybe i will downsize the amp to 500w RMS..
