I wonder if there's anything special about the cable/diagnostic wire (part 09843-18040)? (any resistors, etc inside) If it's just 2 basic wires spliced together, it should be really easy to make it yourself. I don't really see a point of paying $50 for it and waiting over a week to get it in the mail.
