Hello everyone,

I always thought that all Lexus RX 400h models were AWD but I just learned that they are not. How can I find out if my car is AWD or 2WD?

The Vin has a different character in it. I don't have time to look up right now which character though. Easy way to check is in the nav screen go to where it shows battery level. If you have awd, it will display a rear motor in addition to the front motor and engine.

Look low under the rear bumper. If you have 2 axles coming to the wheels from a center large metal piece, you have AWD. That most likely needs fluid change by now, being 2007.

Pull up the information screen on the car, where you can see the picture of the car and the charging state. If it has a rear motor contributing to the charge of the battery, then it is AWD. If only the front wheels are filling the battery, then its front wheel drive.
