I have a 06 400H which now has 180k miles (purchased with 140k miles). I have had no issues with the hybrid battery.

- The CVT transmission in this vehicle is rock solid, and you have almost no chance of the transmission going out. Even if it does go out, because they never go out, used prices are super cheap.
- Battery prices have fallen tremendously, with lots of aftermarket options. There are 17 cells (i think) in this battery. If it fails, it will be one or two cells. You can just replace the individual failed cell. You can use the Dr. Prius app to check the battery, it was a little complicated to use when I did it 2 years ago. It can give you some peace of mind when purchasing, just plug in the bluetooth dongle and use an android device to connect.
- This is VERY nimble. I became a believer in hybrid/electric after this vehicle. You touch the accelerator, and it MOVES. Its not like a full gas engine where you wait for it to kick in, it is immediate.
- It has been very reliable.

I initially bought this for myself, however, my wife drove it to work on day, then declared that she is keeping it.

I have 2006 RX400h, owned since ~87k miles bought from Orign'l owner w/all srvc records. Currently mechanic suggests WS Transmission fluid change, has 214, 488 miles, question is...how often are you supposed to change transmission fluid? My owners manual doesn't go past 150k maintenance reco.? I'm confused what is difference from CVT vs. WS? I have previously changed with WS (same mechanic).
