Default ES300h Power Mirrors

I test drove an ES300h UL last weekend. It had the power folding mirrors that auto fold when the ignition is turned off and then again when turned on. This was a 2020 model.
Was this standard in the 2019 UL model too? And did the 2019 luxury model have auto fold power mirrors or was that an option?

It wasn't an option on 2019 models, it was first introduced in 2020.

In the US it was only on 2020 UL's. It was available overseas on 2019's.

Interesting. So you're saying the power folding function wasn't tied to the door locks? Typically, most other models for years now have had them tied to the door locks rather than the ignition. On my GS, they came from the factory tied to the door locks but I used Carista to change them so they're tied to the ignition instead (I often park next to a large pillar so when I open the door to get in or out, the mirrors won't clear the pillar. With them tied to the ignition instead, they always clear).

I wonder if this is a one off change like I happened to make or if this is something new Lexus is doing now.

Power fold functions is determined by a 3-position switch on the driver's door. You can have the power fold tied to the ignition (power) switch, locks, or not move at all.
