Default Lexus and their hybrid warranty

So guys, I’m thinking of Buying a 2014 Lexus ES350 with 26,000 miles. It’s being sold for $20,000, which is a great price l. Now the problem is, this car is 2 years away from losing its hybrid warranty since the warranty is for 8 years... So I’m worried about purchasing this car. But I was wondering if there was a way I can get the Lexus dealership to switch out the battery. What if I told them it was’nt working right over and over again (car keeps turning off), and I told them that the symptoms would come off and on so they couldn’t reproduce it on the spot... because of the warranty is 8 years, I wouldn’t be surprised that the day after the 8 years have passed, the car stops turning on XD

Before buying, research the Dr Prius app and use that to diag the car’s battery and expected life remaining.

So if you're really concerned buy an extended warranty. Trying to lie and falsely cheat the dealership isn't the way to go. You put your money down and shake the dice...

Were you looking to get laughed at by both a Lexus service advisor and master mechanic?

I agree with what others here have said, you should be honest with them, especially if you expect them to be honest with you. You might want to consider making a lower offer that accounts for a battery replacement, and just explain your concern for the battery is the reason for the lower offer. Frankly, with only 26,000 miles, I believe you may be overthinking this anyway. I realize the warranty is about to expire and the drive battery isn't cheap, but the odds are good that you still have plenty of life left in the drive battery. One final note on the hybrid warranty, it is 10 years on vehicles sold in CARB (California Air Resources Board) states. I assume the warranty is transferable - but that is only an assumption on my part...

dude i was going to say just that

If this guy is going to seriosloy try and cheat the dealership and he admits it here he is no better than those dealrships that do end up cheaitng the customer at times or that shop that tries to sel what is not needed
dude dont lie.

Am I the only one seeing some inconsistency here?
