Default 2013 ES300H Aux battery Dead

Car has been sitting in the garage for 3 weeks. Tried to start the car today and its completely dead. The dash had all the lights on when I tried to start it, however after few attempts no lights would turn on. I wanted to jump start the car but I am unable to open the trunk. The button inside the car to open the trunk is not working. I tried using the manual key to open the trunk. It does not turn clockwise or anticlockwise. I tried the valet switch in the glove box. No success. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

Open the hood and in the engine fuse box (or somewhere around there) will be a jump point for the cables. For pretty much any lexus/toyota hybrid you jump start the car from the front hood never the aux battery. It should be in the manual.

Open the hood and the on the right side there should be a fuse box agianst the edge of the fender. It will say fuse/relay or something like that. Pop that cover off. You'll see a red cover/tab that you open and that will be your positive jump point. The negative jump point will be your ground which you can use the strut bolt or something like that. I just checked an 18' es300h which also states you need to jump from the trunk, however there is still a jump point in the front engine fuse box. The 13' es300h should also have this same jump point.

Did you try BOTH ways to insert the key?

Yes I did. It goes in completely only one way. Tried to wiggle it but no luck.

You are right (just checked on mine). Maybe try to spray WD40 into the key slot? BTW you need to turn the key clockwise to open the trunt (looking from below).

I do not have a red tab on my 2014 ES300h either.

looks like the newer model has it. Appreciate your help. I guess towing to the dealership is the only option.

Thats a good idea. will try it out. I tried the key at the front door handle as well and it did not turn. weird. luckily the car was not locked so I could at least get in.

My guess would be that the nut next to the (missing) red tab is the cable from the battery. But I would triple check it before connecting a jumper cable there.

It worked!! Thanks a bunch for the wd40 idea. I was able to jumpstart and take it for a spin.

I did put pressure on it. But the WD40 spray did the trick. It easily turned after that.
