Default RX400h longevity?

Hi, RX400H Owners:
I absolutely love my 2008 RX400h. However, it has 233,000 miles on it. It is time for regular maintenance--timing belt, brakes, struts, etc My Rx300 lasted 283,000 miles but died. Since I am looking at $3-4K worth of work, I want to hear from other owners. How many miles does your 400h have on it and what year is it? Are there any problems with it? The headlights on this Lexus as well as my previous Lexus seem to play musical lights at this high mileage. One comes on and another goes out. I take it in to have one or more replaced and they start working. (Heavy sigh) I am trying to decide if I should put money in this one or purchase another. Please share your experiences. Thanks!

We had an 06 that we kept for 13yrs 186000miles, was great up until the final yrs when the main seal and coolant started to leak along with body damage. Was in a similar position of thousands of dollars of work, more than what the car was worth so sold it for $1500 and that was that.

Toyota's (Lexus) go a very long time. 233,000 is nothing. What kinda of work do you have to put into it?

would be better if one of the mods moved this to the RX/hybrid forums.

@LexsCTJill. Timing belt, and brakes. One of the axles is leaking along with something else. They are supposed to email me with a write up.

Timing belt and water pump I assume are going to be the priciest in labor, while axle and brakes are not that bad. 3-4k... is this a dealer estimate?

Well. 233k miles is pretty high.

the car probably isn’t worth much.. you need to decide whether you are going to drive it to the ground, or cut your losses now.

How happy/sad would you be if the hybrid batteries needed replacing in the next 2 years? For us, it’s such a “trouble-free” car for its age, we are expecting a major repair and enjoy every extra trouble-free day it gives us.

If I was going to drive it for another year or 2 I would skip the timing belt and only do the brakes, struts, and cv boot. At an independant shop.
