Default 2020 Lexus ES Hybrid

What is the difference (i.e. 2020 ES Hybrid is Lithium) between the 2019 Lexus ES Hybrid vs. 2020 Lexus ES Hybrid?

As a 2019 300h UL owner who daily drive one (around 90 000KM on the clock), I can honestly say that it is the best car I've owned. Super smooth, plenty of power of every day driving and very fuel efficient (cost less than my old 2009 Corolla). The thing that I noticed is that the regenerative brakes can feel ''gummy'' and abnormal at low traffic speed (similar sensation of a magnet). You probably won't feel at normal braking speed and will get used to it pretty fast. The car is a total package (if you are looking for a big sedan) and I intend to keep it for a very long time (big and long, looks expensive and luxury, quiet, fuel efficient, plenty of power, etc.).

Actually the switch over to Lithium-ion (Li) from nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries occurred in the 2021 model year.
Both 2019 and 2020 ESh's (and the previous 2013-19's) were still nickel-metal.
Stated benefit is "for overall weight reduction". Published actual curb weight however is still the 3704 lbs. as it was in 2019.

Yes but FYI that was for the American market. Here in Canada they did not switch, I assume due to our extreme cold. I can't speak for overseas markets.

We still don’t have any data if the lithium ion packs will last as long as the nickel metal packs.

Toyota does though. They don't chance their reputation. So I'll trust their research was definitive.

Regular hybrid is a given tuned to 240 to 250hp. Likely will get the 2.4t and plug in hybrid as well like the RX.
