Default Lithium ion batteries for 2021 ESh
Since Lithium Ion batteries are smaller & lighter than Nickel Hydride and store more energy, I would have thought the vehicle weight would be lower and the EPA fuel economy figures would be higher for the 2021 than the 2020. Since I am no engineer, my thoughts are obviously wrong since the specs show identical EPA numbers and slightly more weight for the 2021. Education please.

Good point. Li batteries definitely should be lighter. Look forward to a reply from an expert.

Weight of the 2020 ES300h: 3704 lbs.
weight of the 2021 ES300h: 3730 lbs.
