Default 2014 ES300h Maintenance

Took my wife’s car to the Toyota dealership for an oil change which is done very 10k miles. The car is at 80,600 miles and the service advisor said it’s time to change the drive belt. What other services need to be done at this time? IIRC, I’ve gotten the alignment done last March, tires rotated/balanced a few weeks ago, brake pads were checked a few months ago and were still good.

Ask him to show you the drive belt. There isn't one so it should be kind of entertaining.

As far as other maintenance, just whatever the service guide says. You can look it up online. I don't think there's anything significant at that mileage. I personally change transmission fluid but the service manual doesn't indicate that's required. Coolant is required at 100,000 miles for the engine I believe. And 150,000 miles for the inverter. But you're not there yet.

No drive belt. There's a harmonic balancer which oddly enough has grooves in it for a belt but I'm guessing this is because that same balancer is used for other engines that do require a drive belt.

What's amazing is how little the service managers and even the techs themselves know about the cars they work on. It's as if there's no effort whatsoever to actually learn anything about the vehicles they'll be working on or managing. That's the case at all dealers. I've had the same thing at the Honda dealership.
