2007 RX-400H can't move
Hello,
My RX-400H has been stuck in parking after I came back from a trip (no issues during the drive for the trip), but unlike other threads that shift level can't be shifted from Park (P):
1) When I turn the car on, "Ready" is light up, no error or warning lights on the dashboard.
2) I can shift to any shift position, R, N, D, B.
3) I can feel the transmission is engaged if I shift to R, D, or B, but the car doesn't move. From R to D/B (or vice versa) I can feel that the car shaking a bit.
4) I have checked the break lights, all good, and I have not found any broken fuses.
What could be the issue? Anything to do with brake safety interlock or parking safety module if applicable to RX-400, or it is a transmission issue?
Thanks

Well, 12V does not start engine, hybrid battery does but, it points towards good 12V as with bad 12V, hybrid battery will not start the engine.
In that the case and, to be honest, I'm a bit confused on symptoms described in OP, you need to have it diagnosed properly. It sort of looks like ECM does not receive proper sygnal from joystick, aka gear shifter, to switch PSD into Drive mode or Reverse mode. As there is no direct gear engaged - MOF, no gears shifting - when you select gear shifter positions. It is all electronically controlled inside the PSD. I am not even sure, why car jerks, when you "shift" gear. It should not, it's not your conventional automatic transmission. Especially, if ICE is not running. Basically, it's like as if PSD does not know that it needs to engage motive force.

Yeah, I understand CVT is different from conventional transmission, but I am pretty sure the "gear shift" actions were detected by the ECM, as drive mode was correctly displayed on the dashboard, and for R, the backup light was on.
I am think it is likely related to "Park Safety", as with CVT, when it is in Park position, normally the car can't move even parking break is not engaged. It could be the Parking Safety Module is malfunction. What is Parking Assist Control Module, like this one on ebay? https://www.ebay.com/itm/26460542327...8AAOSwfcNeJc9A
Thoughts?

I've had this problem many times.Usually happened when it was cold outside and car sat outside getting cold underneath where the shifter/tranny is-- so i figured. With all my research , it pointed me in the direction of adjusting the "slack' in the prndl . there are posts on this adjustment. What i found MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE is that the 12V battery is at the root of so many problems with this model. Seriously, if the battery is more than 3 yrs old , consider changing it out. I went with an AGM (gel) battery and everything has been fine. I remember when i had no motion i would push hard with the stick against the left side of the shift gate and this would sometimes get it in gear. Almost like it needed to make a electrical contact underneath/inside the console. This may work for a while but you should get a GOOD AGM battery.

Was it so difficult to answer questions on brakes? I would recommend to do the same, because it looked like brake pads have blocked the rotors.
